Our aim for justice
A friend reached out to me and I shared a message that I feel many of you may like to recieve:
We are in the midst of a rude awakening, one that we are experiencing the discomfort and turmoil of together. While we have learned over generations to transform our personal worldview towards diversity and inclusion, we have not yet been ready to see how the systems we have in place have not evolved to reflect our worldview.
We are currently at a tipping point, depending on our collective choice, to transform the systems of oppression. Our work together must be both internal and external towards the change we seek. Our voices and our actions must come together in this time with the focus on humanity and of service as good stewards for one another.
I hate the word politics because its meaning has become rooted in agendas, party lines, and division. I know to my core, that politics is not who nor what we are. Rather, our focus must be on democracy, where we are coming together to create high vision with and for one another.
This is the deeper work we must do, to educate ourselves about the systems that oppress our communities, to hold our leadership accountable to stay in integrity, and work towards solutions that support humanity as a whole. Your hands and your feet are the change you seek in the world. May they be rooted in the love that you are.
Your voice, your service, your heart, your vote, your example, all of those things together create beautiful change. Thank you to all who are showing up and who are "all in", we are doing this work together.
Know that this is an exciting time we are in! I have faith that we are even more united in our aim for justice, love, and equality for humanity. Continue to do your work, inside and out.
Much love to you all.
Your friend,
Sarah
